The Future of London: Science Fiction and Scientists Predictions
What will London look like in the future? That is a difficult question to answer. The city's past has been shaped by many factors, including World War II and the 2008 Olympics. In this blog post we are going to explore some of the different possible futures for London that could come about in the next 100 years or so. We'll also talk with scientists who have made predictions for what they think may happen to our planet as time goes on!
Currently:
1. London is the most diverse city in the world
2. The population of London is growing rapidly, and it's expected to reach 10 million by 2030
3. In 2050, it's predicted that 75% of people living in London will be from an ethnic minority background
4. As a result, there are major changes coming to public transport in order to meet demand
5. There are also plans for more cycle lanes as well as new pedestrian crossings and wider pavements
So with the current and future population explosion what will happen to London? London's population is growing rapidly and it's expected to reach ten million by 2030. As a result, there are major changes coming to public transport in order to meet demand as well as new pedestrian crossings and wider pavements.
What about further in the future what will happen then?
Well, there are many different predictions. Some scientists believe that London will not be recognisable by 2050 and some believe it might disappear entirely. Others predict a rise in automated bus transport to take the place of trains which would enable quicker journeys but with less impact on wildlife such as hedgehogs or foxes who live nearby stations. The fact is nobody really knows what will happen.
The future of London is an exciting topic and it’s hard to say what will happen. What do you think? Will the population grow or decline? Will technology be a key part of our lives, even more than today? Leave your thoughts below.
